Brian Hartline signs with the Browns

It was announced yesterday that Brian Hartline was coming home and had signed a two year, $6 million dollar deal with the Browns. Hartline played his college ball with Ohio State before spending six seasons with the Dolphins but was cut last month only one year into a new 5 year contract. Hartline had two consecutive 1000 yard seasons before dropping to 474 yards last season with the emergence of Jarvis Landry. Hartline is expected to be a key part of the Browns receiving corps this year with Josh Gordon suspended again. Hartline is a possession receiver who still has plenty left in the tank but is probably best suited to being a second option rather than a first option. I have always been an admirer of Hartline and look forward to seeing him as Brown but also bit wary because the last ex-Dolphins receiver the Browns got was Devone Bess and that didn’t end well.
